Presidential Debate #2 Oct 7th : HR Candidate Analysis

I slept through the second half of the debate. Sure I was tired from a hectic work schedule today but still.. it was only 9.30 pm in New York. So I am not sure whether this is an indicator of how progressively boring the debates are getting. Dont the candidates know that these are televised nationally and globally so everyone who saw the first one is seeing the next one and the one after. Its as if they are just talking to the audience in the hall who are all very new to this. Frankly if those bozos havent been following the debates so far they really shouldnt be there. But going by the questions which were not very basic and the fact that I saw one chap rubbing his eyes as if he were sleepy ... (like me).. I think they have been following and listening to other debates and speeches.  In anycase, Mc Cain sounded like an old nag ( pun unintended but you wont believe me so go ahead and assume what you want to about my political correctness). Obama had a couple of good answers on priorities etc. In anycase, HR people, we are bad... we are taught to judge , we are paid to judge and we are valued for our ability to judge. So I'm not judging anyone but heres my judgement

Mc Cain knows a lot about a few things -- naturally since he has been around since Alexander the Great. But still, considering his years of experience that he talks about constantly, he seems to know remarkably little about some broad pressing issues such as the economy or operating effectively on the world stage etc. He also comes across as jaded and out of touch. I dont see enough fire except when it comes to pointing it at Obama and bitching about how his plans are like jello and hes a baby who will learn on the job and whine, whine, whine, whine......

On the other hand, Obama may not know a lot about a lot of things but he knows to ask the right questions and has been able to come up with reasonably understandable solutions to some of the problems. He prioritizes, he wants to build global relations - just like some of our good general managers in the company. He also comes across as more honest when he is addressing people, more gentlemanly than Mc Cain and going by his choice of VP candidate who is an expert of foreign relations, he seems to have the ability to pick the right team.  Again, I have no polictical affiliations, i will not be voting and i am just an observer ..an "independent" as they call it....happy to be influenced either way and started off wondering why America had these 2 less than effective candidates and now swinging towards the obama camp after listening to all the other debates .. for which I might add.. I was fully awake.

so to sum up, mc cain is sort of a specialist in areas like the war etc. but we are not in vietnam, we dont want to be in iraq and we want to get out of this messy economy but he cant get us out coz he doesnt have the skils.

obama is like a general manager - knows little about a lot, eager to learn, extend a hand and intellectually sharper than Mc Cain. Isnt that what America needs now ? Someone with some iota of brains. I really dont care about the change nonsense that the obama camp is touting. What I care about is having the right person for the right job at the right time creating the perfect human capital storm. I'm not sure we have the best candidates as choices but of the two, which one meets the requirements of the job is the question.
